Those were the times...

Was browsing through my photo albums just now and I found some interesting photos…

It was almost two years back then, when we first met each other… 30th March 2008, not exactly two years, it is a year and another nine months… Hard to believe, time really flies very fast…

Date: 24th Dec 09 ----- Venue: Ian’s grandparents’ house, JB

I met some new friends there, Coffee, Coco, Chloe, Cappu, Chino and another five unnamed puppies… Coffee doesn’t like me at first, but not after I fed him some chicken’s skin and bones… He’s my friend now… Coco and Chloe are great mothers, they are the mothers of seven puppies… Cappu and Chino always ‘fight’ against each other, that’s how they interact I guess… And the five small little puppies, they are seriously cute…

Date: 25th Dec 09 ----- Venue: Singapore

Blessed Christmas! Went to Singapore early in the morning with Ian… Got up at 6am and headed to custom to enter Singapore… Met up with Vivian, and we celebrated our best Christmas there in Singapore…

Here are some places we had visited...

Harbour Front Centre

Too bad most of the nice pictures are with Vivian now, I only have some semi-nice ones here…

Merlion

It was drizzling there when we visited, but still, we had loads of fun there not bothered by the rain at all… Must not forget to thank the China aunty too for helping us to get some group photos… ^^ 谢谢啦!

Orchard Road

According to the paper, this year’s decoration in orchard road is the best one ever in the past 10 years… It was seriously nice, but we didn’t complete the whole Orchard Road due to the extreme tiredness and also the flow of people there…

Owh ya, Ian’s brother (Sean), joined us around 6pm in Orchard Road, but he kept complaining that he can hardly walk anymore… Haha…

Of course we did visited some other places like Bugis Street and City Hall, but again, as I said, most of the photos are with Vivian, they are all in her sony touch screen digital camera… Awesome camera!

For me I think the most important part of this Christmas celebration in Singapore is not about what places we visited… Cause I visit Singapore almost every year, those places are not stranger to me at all… What matters are the memories we created there… Ian, Vivian, and Sean… Thanks to every one of you I got to enjoy myself to the max there in Singapore… Can never forget this momentous Christmas I had, especially the coconut hairstyle designed by Vivian on me… And the cashier who never dare to look at me even for a second… And of course Vivian’s super scary ‘cute’ laughter……

The next time when we get to meet together again, I guess it would be another one year’s time? Make it shorter maybe, 6 months? Haha, we all have our own busy life to manage with… So, all the best there in Singapore, Ian… Same to you Vivian, take care… ^^

To say that my dad forced me to learn insurance, NO, I wouldn’t say that! It was all my will to get to know more about this field… Went for some AIA functions with my dad before this, and found out that insurance is indeed a profitable business… But still, insurance was a stranger to me by that time, all I know about insurance was that it pays money to us when we died… So, to please my interest towards insurance, I took the challenge… I went for classes, asked dad to arrange exam for me, and studied quite hard for the exam… This is what I get in return…

Haha, a C which means ‘ngam ngam’ passed! Well, it is definitely better than fail right, after all, this exam cost me 80 bucks (dad paid for it anyway), can’t simply fail it… My holiday officially starts now, no more studies, no nothing, just enjoy for the last 2 weeks… You might laugh at me as I wasted half of my holiday studying insurance which has nothing to do with my future career, but I never regretted taking insurance exam cause I’m now authoritatively an AIA insurance agent! Anyone needs insurance? I’m selling it online here, haha… Mari-mari, be my first customer!

Not gonna stop here, I’m attending insurance classes for further knowledge about it! Haha, anyone is interested to insurance? Do not hesitate to approach me cause now I can really vouch for a number of its good! Insurance rocks!

Adam Lambert - Whataya Want from Me

Apart of his sexual orientation, I actually love his song very much…

Hey, slow it down
What do you want from me
What do you want from me
Yeah, I’m afraid
What do you want from me
What do you from me

There might have been a time
I would give myself away
(Ooh) Once upon a time
I didn’t give a damn
But now here we are
So what do you want from me
What do you want from me

Just don’t give up
I’m workin’ it out
Please don’t give in
I won’t let you down
It messed me up, need a second to breathe
Just keep coming around
Hey, what do you want from me
What do you want from me

Yeah, it’s plain to see
that baby you’re beautiful
And it’s nothing wrong with you
It’s me – I’m a freak
but thanks for lovin’ me
Cause you’re doing it perfectly

There might have been a time
When I would let you step away

I wouldn’t even try but I think
you could save my life

Just don’t give up
I’m workin’ it out
Please don’t give in
I won’t let you down
It messed me up, need a second to breathe
Just keep coming around
Hey, what do you want from me
What do you want from me

Just don’t give up on me
I won’t let you down
No, I won’t let you down

So
Just don’t give up
I’m workin’ it out
Please don’t give in
I won’t let you down
It messed me up, need a second to breathe
Just keep coming around
Hey, what do you want from me

Just don’t give up
I’m workin’ it out
Please don’t give in
I won’t let you down
It messed me up, need a second to breathe
Just keep coming around
Hey, whataya want from me
(whataya want from me)
Whataya want from me
whataya want from me

Dooms day? End of the world?

Can’t even sleep any longer even if I’m dead tired… Thanks to the noise of the construction area behind and beside my house… The two areas, (beside and behind my house) were used to be unused land… Neighbors and including my mum used to plant some vegetables over there… But now, what is happening to the tiny two pieces of lands? Government wanted to build houses, build resident area, increase the population of this area and now it is under development… So what if my area here turns out to be more residents? So what if my area here becomes merrier with more people around? Even if everyone is happy about it, the happiness will not last long… Cause all these seem improving the quality of our country apparently, but in fact they are contributing to global warming and leading us to the end of the world, the dooms day…

Talking about dooms day, do you believe it to be true, do you think it is coming very soon? Or you choose to believe that dooms day is just a joke, “2012” is a sheer lunacy?

None is wrong here, you may say that it is a joke, we are all influenced by the American’s reports and media talking about dooms day and the end of the world, climate changes and global warming, ect… You can even say that global warming is not due to mankind, it is because the sun is aging and as time goes by, the sun becomes larger and hotter… Just that we treat it as global warming blindly… But I believe most people do concern about the world, fearful of dooms day is coming for real and worrying about the future generations… No doubt the end of the world is tremendously terrifying, but what can we do about it? Cut down burning of fuels? Reduce the use of earth resources? Or put in more money and efforts to discover “global freezing” in order to encounter global warming? Contradiction is present here, even if we are so scared of dooms day, we can’t slow down or stop our steps and go back to the Stone Age whereby everyone stays in the jungle… It is impossible, because every country is trying to improve, the third world country trying to improve and become second world country, the second world country in return wanted to be the first world country… The first world country for example America is too dependent on combusting coal and other fossil fuels for the use of the country and as the result, it is impossible to wipe out global warming in the world, we can at most slow down the increase of world’s temperature only…

I watched a series of videos about global warming last night, it is called “Six degrees could change the world”… A series of 6 videos talking about how devastating is the increase of the temperature due to the earth… Every increase of one degree to the earth will bring disaster to the world, of course the higher the increase of temperature, the more severe the result… When the world has increased six degree Celsius, the world will be like Venus, not livable by any human… According to the video, if we continue to live in the way we are now, our next generation might experience this terrible disaster… Don’t think that it still has a long time to come, it is coming soon… Don’t think that all these are not for real either, it is based on the previous 35 years of statistic… Think about it and be prepared for the worst… Not much time left for the earth…

New Skin!

Had the thought of changing the plain old layout of my blog since long time ago… But just couldn’t find any which suits me and can seize my attention…

Saw this layout about coffee when I browsed through the web this morning… Suits me a lot as I am a coffee lover… Not an old coffee lover, I just started to fall for coffee early of this year due to extreme tiredness in work and college life…

Anyway, just to notify you that you are not in the wrong blog, this is still Yeong Bin’s blog… Attitude still matters a lot to him… ^^

Marketing?

According to Wikipedia, Marketing is the process associated with promoting for sale goods or services… To make it less intricate, I would prefer this definition – Marketing is the act of trying to convince people to buy stuff they don't need… It is very true of this saying, because promotion only applies to those stuffs that people don’t need… Here’s a simple example from my aunt… There was this flower shop trying to steal customers from my aunt’s flower shop… This shop was brilliant, they used the strategy of competing price of products with my aunt’s shop, of course, much survey had been done before they do that… For example, product A which sold RM3.20 in my aunt’s flower shop, they sell it RM2.90… Although it was just 30 cents difference (a very petty disparity), but, in the eyes of the consumer, it is a big difference! Merely because of the initial figure, 3 is obviously larger than 2… Aunt started to notice when customers kept commenting about how cheap the other shop was selling the same product… What will you do if you were my aunt? Make the price cheaper and compete with the shop until they surrender? It is a good strategy, but a bad one as well… By reducing the price over and over again, this will not only lessen your profit but at the same time spoiling the market price… As a remedy, what my aunt did was, she increased the price of the product 2 times the original price, selling it at a price of RM7.50… It sounds crazy, definitely… But what more crazier was the product became one of the most fast selling products in the month! This is what we call reverse psychology… When the customer notice a small difference of price, they will go for the cheaper ones, but when the difference is large, they will set their mindset saying that this product is 100% different from the other one, maybe in quality it is better or it is made from a first world country… In any way, they will convince their mind that the way more expensive one is better… In fact both are just the same… This is marketing, the power of marketing…

Someone told me this before: “doing business is not about earning money but earning people’s heart!”… Exactly! Service is always the first because everyone loves being respected!

Haha, not sure since when I’ve got attracted to business and marketing… I even borrowed 2 books about marketing from my aunt when I visited her last week… Not to say that my dream of becoming a doctor is so fragile that it can turn into an evanescence bubble in any time… But I just wanted to learn more, a doctor with knowledge about other fields is definitely a better doctor compared to those ordinary ones…

Hmmm Business and marketing is fun, very interesting!
